single parent, two under ten, and my honest availability is about two evenings a month, both of which have to be arranged weeks ahead because they depend on my mum.
i have been thinking about doing something about this side of my life for a couple of years now and i keep stopping at the same wall, which is that everything about how dating apparently works assumes you can be spontaneous. meet for a drink this week. go to the munch on thursday. come to the thing on saturday. i cannot do any of that. i can do the second saturday of next month.
there is also the practical bit that i am not going to have anyone at my house, which rules out a lot of what people seem to end up doing.
so is this worth starting or am i going to spend a year being the person who says i will have to check and get back to you? has anyone here done this from inside a life like mine, and if so how did you frame it so it did not read as not really available.
