I live in a flat with three other people, one paper thin wall, and a hallway you can hear from every room. This post is essentially an accommodation problem wearing a personal ad.
Twenty seven, north of the river, four years in and nothing that lasted longer than five months, which I used to blame on the people and now suspect was largely about never having anywhere to go. It is difficult to build anything when every plan starts with working out whose flatmates are away. Switch, and honestly a bit undecided about which way I lean, because I have never had the run of enough time to find out. That is the actual thing I want: enough continuity to discover something about myself rather than a series of first attempts.
I am cheerful, fairly loud, quite good at talking, and I will make jokes at the wrong moment. I am told that reads as not taking it seriously. I take it seriously. I am simply not solemn. What would help is somebody who lives alone, or who at least has a door that closes properly. I know that is a shallow requirement and I am asking anyway. What would not help is anyone who wants to move fast, because I cannot, or anyone who thinks a hotel solves it. It does not, it just makes it expensive and strange.
