Everybody on this board is careful because of a job. Mine is nothing to do with work. My employer would not blink. My problem is that when we divorced we both stayed put, and her sister is four streets away, and her closest friend does the same school run I do.
Forty, mid-cities, switch, nine years. We are not on bad terms and I would like it to stay that way, and the fastest route to bad terms would be a rumour reaching her before I did. There are children in this house. That is the whole of the reasoning and it is not going to change for another eight years.
What it means practically: nothing anywhere near here, ever. I will drive across the metro without complaint and I would rather. I cannot host on the weeks the children are with me, which is most of them.
What I want is a long dynamic, both directions, with somebody who has their own settled life and no particular need for us to be visible. I lean towards leading, but the two best stretches I have had were the other way and I would not want to give it up.
I am steady, I do what I say, and I am not carrying any drama about the marriage. It ended for the dullest reasons imaginable. Not looking for anybody who lives in this suburb. Not looking to be somebody's secret in a way that has anything to do with them being attached elsewhere. Not looking for anything that needs a weeknight after eight.
