Couple on the far edge of the city, equidistant from everywhere and no closer to anybody

- Looking for
- a couple or a single woman who treats a long drive as normal
- Experience
- Married sixteen years, in this for seven, one long friendship with another couple.
- Around
- south toward Clear Lake, Houston
We sit right out at the edge of Houston, which sounds convenient to anybody looking at a map and is in practice the worst of both worlds. Forty minutes to anything on a Sunday morning, an hour and a half each way on a weekday evening, three hours of the night gone before either of us has said hello. Close enough that we can go, far enough that we cannot go often.
Married sixteen years, both in our forties, in this together for seven. He is dominant, she switches, and the arrangement between the two of us has been settled for a long time. For four years we were close friends with another couple an hour and a half the other side of town and we saw them monthly. That was the shape that worked: not a swap, not a scene every time, mostly dinner and long conversations with the occasional weekend where more happened. They moved out of state in the spring and we have felt the absence more than we expected to.
So we would like to find that again. A couple or a single woman, comfortable with the fact that anything we do requires planning and a whole clear evening, and not looking for anything spontaneous, because spontaneous is not geographically available to us.
Neither of us is interested in a one time meeting. We have tried it and it always felt like a wasted tank of fuel.
We host occasionally, if we know somebody well. Mostly we travel. Both of us are on this post and both of us reply. She writes faster. He writes longer.
