Born here, forty five, and tired of hearing that the Valley is far

- Looking for
- somebody who treats a drive as a normal part of a week
- Experience
- Twenty years, both sides, and a long memory for this board.
- Around
- the east side, Los Angeles
I was born in this county and I have watched three waves of people arrive, announce that anywhere more than fifteen minutes away is impossible, and leave again after four years. It has made me unreasonable on this one subject and I would rather lead with it than have it surface later.
Forty five, the east side, switch, twenty years in. Distance here is a fact, not an insult. It is forty minutes to almost anywhere at the right hour and ninety at the wrong one, and the entire skill is knowing which hour you are in. If you have organized your life so that nobody outside a small radius can ever matter to you, that is your right, and we will not work.
What I want is something regular and unhurried with somebody who has been here long enough to have a real life in it. I lead and I follow in roughly equal measure, and after twenty years I know the difference between a person who can genuinely do both and a person who is being polite.
I have a house on the east side, a job with ordinary hours, and a very poor tolerance for people who cancel twice.
I am not interested in being anybody's guide to the city. If you moved here in March and want it explained, there are better people for that and I have done my turn.
