I do not drive, at all, and in this city that is the headline

- Five years, three dynamics, all within a bus ride.

I have epilepsy and I do not have a license, and in this city that is not a small detail. It is the first three paragraphs of my life. Everything I do is planned around a timetable that somebody else set.
Thirty one, the Westside, switch, five years in. I have had three dynamics and every one of them was with somebody inside about four miles of me, which tells you exactly how large my world is.
What I have to say plainly: I will occasionally be late for reasons that are not my fault, and I will sometimes cancel because I am not well. I have no way of making that more convenient. What I can do is give plenty of notice, be honest about it, and not dress it up as something else.
What I want is something regular and close by, or somebody happy to come to me who does not present that as a favor being done. I go both ways, fairly evenly, and the thing I most want is one person I can eventually do both with. That has never happened and I have begun to suspect it is rarer than the word suggests.
If you are about to suggest I use the ride services more often, I have thought about my own money more carefully than you have. And if seizures frighten you, that is allowed, but please work it out privately rather than out loud with me.
