All my experience is from abroad and none of it transfers

Everything I have done in this happened while I was studying abroad, in a city where nobody knew me and where I could be whoever I liked on a Friday. I came home in January and discovered that the confident version of me does not appear to work here at all.
Twenty seven, submissive, Villeurbanne, three years in, none of it local. What I had over there was a large and slightly anonymous scene where you could turn up somewhere, be new, and nobody would follow it up afterwards. Here there appear to be about forty people, all of whom already know each other, and the thought of walking into that makes me want to lie down.
So I am doing it in writing instead, which is slower and which I suspect suits the way this city works anyway. I would rather explain myself properly to one person than be a face in a room.
What I want is a long dynamic with somebody patient. Structure, rules, service, an evening a week. I am not a beginner in terms of what I know about myself and I am a complete beginner in terms of doing any of it here. I should also say plainly that I am worried about being recognised, mostly by family, and that I will be careful about photographs and about where we meet at the start.
Not looking for anybody who will tell me the scene here is friendly, which I am sure it is and which is not the point. Not looking to be introduced to a group. Not looking for anything in the centre for a good while yet.
