My patients are everywhere, which shapes every part of this

- Experience
- Seven years, two dynamics, both entirely private.

- Didsbury, Manchester
I am a GP in a practice I have worked at for eleven years, in an area where I am recognised in the supermarket roughly every other visit. Last month somebody stopped me by the freezers to describe a rash. That is my life, it is mostly rather nice, and it means I cannot be anywhere that any of my patients might be. Forty four, Didsbury, submissive, seven years in.
What that means practically. No photographs, of anything, ever. Nothing written that identifies me. Nowhere public within about ten miles of where I work. I will meet you in person reasonably early, in a different part of the county, because I would rather build trust face to face than leave a trail of messages behind us.
I know that is a lot to ask of a person, and that from the outside it can look like I am hiding something bigger. I am not. I live alone, I am attached to nobody, and my colleagues would be perfectly nice about it, which is not the same as wanting them to know.
What I want is a long dynamic, quiet, with structure that lives in the everyday. I am good at being told and terrible at being asked what I would like.
Not looking for anyone who finds the caution insulting. Not looking to be reassured about how unlikely it all is. Not looking for a person who wants to be seen out with me, because that is the one thing I cannot give anybody.
