We left Caracas in a hurry and we arrived here with three suitcases and my sister's address. That was seven years ago. We have built a good life since, with work and a small apartment and a car that is finally ours, and the one thing we have not rebuilt is the circle of friends we had at home.
Forty and forty three, Coral Gables, together sixteen years, with this part of our marriage for ten.
We have never done any of it with other people. At home we would not have dared, and here we have spent seven years being busy. Now our life is calmer and we are looking around and finding that we know a hundred people and are close to four of them.
So we would like friends first. Another couple, or a person, who understands this and who we could see often enough that it stops being an event.
Both of us speak English every day. My wife writes it better than I do. Sometimes we say something more strongly than we intend, and if that happens we would rather be asked than judged.
We are not looking for a third person in our marriage. We are not in a hurry for anything at all. What we want is company, from people who are not going to leave the city in six months.
