Four nights on, four off, and on the on nights I am alone with a great deal of humming equipment from ten in the evening until eight. I read, I write, I answer messages properly because there is time to. It is the most attentive I am all week and it happens when the rest of the city is unconscious.
Thirty seven, dominant man, the near suburbs, ten years in. My four off days are entirely free and land on different days of the week each cycle, which sounds chaotic and is actually very predictable if you write it down once.
What I have learned about running a dynamic like this is simple. It works beautifully with somebody who can keep to a structure while I am unavailable, and it collapses instantly with somebody who needs me present to hold them to anything. So that is the requirement, stated plainly rather than discovered in month three. I will give you clear standing expectations and I will read every word of what you send back, at three in the morning, carefully.
In exchange: I am genuinely hard to rattle, I am specific, and I have never once forgotten something somebody told me was important. I do not drink, I keep a very odd house, and my social life is thin by choice.
Not looking for someone who measures interest in response times. Not looking for anybody who wants an evening out every week, because I have four in a month and I am protective of them. Not looking to be somebody's only source of company.
