Does anybody on here finish a conversation, or is it just me

Since January I have had eleven conversations here that went well and then stopped. Not ended. Stopped. Mid exchange, sometimes mid question, with no explanation, from people who had been writing paragraphs the previous evening. I have started keeping a tally, which is either funny or a sign that I should take up a hobby.
Fifty two, Belgian, in Paris twenty years, switch, eighteen years in this. I am aware that a post beginning with a complaint is not a promising advertisement. I have decided that the alternative, pretending I am not annoyed, would be worse and less accurate.
What I want is simple and I think fairly easy to provide. One person. A correspondence that continues. Then a meeting, then another one. Then, if it works, a dynamic that runs for years rather than weeks. I lead more than I follow. I am not particularly interested in pain in either direction and very interested in restraint, protocol and being answerable.
I am direct to the point that people occasionally think I am angry when I am simply Belgian. If you are somebody who has stopped answering three good conversations this year, I do not think you are a bad person. I think this format encourages it. I am simply saying that I am not going to be one of the people who does it to you, and I would like the same back.
If you disappear I will assume you are alive and busy and I will not write again to ask.
