There are, I would guess, about seventy people in the circle I ended up in, and after eight years I know almost all of them by sight and about half of them properly. Two of my four dynamics were with people who had previously been involved with each other. It is not scandalous. It is simply what a circle of seventy produces over eight years, and I have reached the end of what it can offer me.
Thirty, Paris, submissive, eight years. I am not leaving this city, so my options are to accept the arithmetic or to widen the map. So I am widening the map. Anybody in Paris outside my own quarter, anybody out past the boulevard who never comes in, or somebody here who has arrived recently and has not yet been absorbed into the same seventy people.
What I want is a long dynamic with structure in it. Rules, service, being answerable daily. I have very little interest in pain and a great deal in obedience, which some people find a strange combination and which has been consistent in me for eight years.
I work regular hours, I live alone, I can host and I will travel at weekends. I would want to write first. Not for months, but enough that we are not strangers when we sit down.
