want to be told i am not overreacting, or told that i am, either is useful.
been talking to a man for about a month. it has been good. we are meeting a week on saturday, somewhere public, i picked it.
yesterday he asked me, quite carefully and with a lot of apologising in advance, not to tell anybody about it. not the meeting, not him, not that we have been talking. he explained why at length. his work is the sort where this getting out would be a genuine problem, there was a situation a couple of years ago where somebody talked, and he has been careful ever since.
and it is a plausible explanation. that is what is making this hard. i believe that his job would care. i believe that the earlier thing happened.
but i have read this board for a year and i know what it is going to say, and i notice i have not told my friend yet, which i always do, and that i have not told her because he asked.
so. is there any version of this that is fine? or is the request itself the answer regardless of how good the reason is.
