met someone for coffee last week. it was good, genuinely, we got on and it was easy and neither of us wanted to leave when we did.
he has now invited me to a party. a proper one, a regular event he goes to, in about three weeks. as our second meeting.
my instinct says that is a big jump from a cup of tea in a garden centre. but i am also aware that my instincts about all of this are two months old and mostly built from reading, so i do not fully trust them.
things that are making me hesitate: i would know nobody there except him, i have no idea what the etiquette is, and i do not know whether accepting is understood as agreeing to something.
things making me consider it: he was completely relaxed about me saying no, said there is no pressure and that plenty of people come and just watch, and gave me the organiser’s details unprompted so i could ask questions myself.
