logistics failure, posting so somebody else avoids it.
met someone in her city rather than mine, which meant i knew nothing about where to go. so i suggested the cafe at the station, on the grounds that i would definitely be able to find it and neither of us would be late.
it is a concourse with chairs. announcements every ninety seconds. everyone in it is either running for something or waiting for something. the tables are the sort you cannot lean on. someone’s suitcase hit my leg twice.
we lasted about fifty minutes and then she said she should probably head off, and honestly i would have said the same.
she has messaged since and been friendly about it, so i do not think i have ruined anything. but i clearly picked the room where a conversation could not happen.
what do you look for when you do not know an area? is there a rule beyond quiet and busy, because those two are in tension and i cannot work out which wins.
