Every single person I know in this country I met through work. All of them. Four years here and my entire social world is one company and its leaving parties, which is a fine way to have colleagues and a poor way to have a life.
Forty, switch, just outside the ring, moved here for a job I do not regret taking. This is not primarily a post about finding a partner, although I would not turn one down. What I actually want is to know people who do this. A handful of conversations that are not with a colleague, about something that has been a large part of me since my twenties and that nobody in my daily life has the faintest idea about.
I switch, mostly leading now. I am experienced, I am not looking for instruction, and I am equally not looking to instruct anybody.
If a dynamic came out of it, wonderful. If it turned into three people I could have dinner with, that would honestly be enough, and I am aware that is not what a personals board is for.
Not looking for a person who wants to meet once and decide. Not looking for anybody who finds it suspicious that somebody is asking for friendship here. Not looking for anything that would be awkward if we ended up in the same room as other people, which in a city this size we eventually will.
