I read this board for a month before posting and noticed something. Almost nobody on it is my age, and the few who are write as though they are apologising for taking up the space.
Sixty one, switch, in the south, retired last year from a job I did for thirty four years. Twenty seven years in this, most of it inside one relationship that ended amicably four years ago.
I am fit, I cycle everywhere including in January, and I am not looking for company in the sense that word usually carries when it appears in a post from somebody over sixty. I want a dynamic, both directions, with a person interested in the actual thing.
On age, honestly, I have no preference above about thirty five. What I care about is whether somebody has the patience for something built over a couple of years. I have watched a lot of people arrive in this, sprint, and leave, and I would rather not spend my sixties doing that.
I have a flat I can host in, neighbours who do not care, and a schedule that is now entirely my own, which after thirty four years is still a novelty. Not looking to be anybody's curiosity about what people my age do. Not looking for a person who finds it strange that I still want the physical side. Not looking for somebody who wants looking after, because I have done my caring and I am spending this decade differently.
