The thing I want is odd enough that I have stopped burying it in the fourth paragraph: twenty minutes a day, every day, in person, instead of four hours once a week. It is only possible in a city this small and it is the main reason I have never wanted to live in a bigger one.
Thirty nine, dominant woman, in the south, fifteen years in. I ran one dynamic this way for three years and nothing before or since has come close to it.
In practice it is small and relentless. Somebody arrives at a set time. A few things must have been done, and they are checked. Something is corrected, or it is not, and then they leave and we both get on with the evening. Across a year it accumulates into something much heavier than any single long session ever produced, and the person who did it with me said the same at the end.
Which means I need somebody who lives close and whose schedule is genuinely regular. A small pool, and I know it.
Not looking for anybody who wants a big Saturday and nothing in between. Not looking for someone who will find this dull, and from outside it does look dull. Not looking for a person who cannot be relied on to arrive at the same time, because the entire thing is built out of that and nothing else.
