My contract ends in twenty months and I am saying so first

The post I hold runs out in twenty months. It might be renewed. Statistically it will not be, and I would rather put that in the opening line than have somebody discover it in month four.
Twenty seven, submissive, in the south, here since last autumn for a research job. Three years in this, none of it in a room with anybody I would still call.
An end date puts people off and I understand why. What I would say in return is that every arrangement has one and most people simply do not know theirs yet. Mine is written on a piece of paper, which means that if we begin something we both know what we are agreeing to, and we can decide how it should finish while we still like each other.
Inside that time I want a real dynamic rather than a run of evenings. Structure, standards, somebody who expects things of me on a Tuesday morning. Twenty good months beats waiting for a version of my life that is permanent, because at this rate that version is not arriving.
Not looking for anybody who wants a holiday romance with a countdown attached. Not looking to be anyone's introduction to the whole subject. And not looking for a person who will ask every few weeks whether the contract has changed, because the answer will be no until it is yes.
