Fifty five, newly divorced, Berlin, and starting again from nothing

A great deal in my thirties. Nothing at all since.

The divorce came through in March after twenty three years, and I have spent the months since working out which parts of myself I once put in a drawer. This was in the drawer.

I am fifty five. In my thirties I was submissive with a woman who understood it very well, then I married somebody else and never mentioned it, for two decades. I now think that was unfair to both of us. I am not blaming her. I simply never said.

So I am at the beginning again with a body that has aged and a nerve that has not improved. Berlin, my own flat now, a hospital administration job that is dull and secure.

What I want is to be led by a woman who is not in a hurry and does not mind that I will be clumsy for a while. Discipline, structure, service, and yes the physical side, at a level that respects a back with opinions. I would want to talk a great deal first, and I would want to meet somewhere ordinary and will probably talk too much out of nerves.

I am not looking for a replacement wife and I would be wary of myself if I were. I am not looking for anyone who wants the divorce in detail, because I am tired of the story and would like to be a person rather than a situation. And nothing that would upset my grown children if they found out, which mostly means being sensible in public.
