Everything we know we taught each other in one room, which we now suspect is the problem. We have habits neither of us can see and no idea whether they are safe or only familiar.
We are two women, twenty nine and thirty three, together four years, in Berlin. We play, we like it, and one of us tends to lead. Neither of us has ever done anything with another person present, been to anything, or spoken to anyone experienced. We have read a lot, which as far as we can tell is worth about as much as reading about swimming.
What we are asking for is a mentor. Somebody with real years behind them, willing to watch, correct, answer stupid questions, and tell us when we are doing something that will hurt one of us in a way we did not intend. We are happy for that to be a formal arrangement with expectations on our side.
We are not asking anyone to join our relationship. If ruling that out bothers you, we are not a good fit. We are also not interested in a man who reads two women as an opportunity, and we have had enough of those messages this year to say so bluntly.
We would meet in daylight, both of us, and we would want to hear about people you have taught before. If you want references from us we do not have any, which is rather the point.
