I did all of this in another city and then moved back home

- Looking for
- somebody local to rebuild with, and patience about the comparison
- Experience
- Four years, all of it elsewhere, none of it since I came back.
- Around
- Moseley, Birmingham
I spent four years somewhere with a large and busy scene where all of this was easy and constant, and then the course ended, and the money ran out, and I came back to the Midlands with a degree I am not using and a social life that has gone through the floor.
Twenty six, renting a room in Moseley, four years of experience that all happened in a different postcode.
The thing nobody warned me about is how much of what I knew was about that place rather than about me. I knew people. I knew where to be on a Thursday. Remove that and it turns out my skills are considerably narrower than I thought, and I have had to accept that starting again here is genuinely starting again rather than transferring.
What I want is one or two people locally, for something that builds slowly. Both directions interest me, although I have more practice at following and I am slightly better at leading, which I have never managed to explain to anybody including myself.
I am aware that people who go on about how much better things were elsewhere are exhausting, so I will make a real effort not to be one. Not looking for anybody who wants to hear war stories. Not looking to travel back there once a month, which I tried twice and cannot afford. This is where I live now and I would like to start behaving as though that is true.
