Sixty, and I stopped putting things off in February

I spent a fortnight in hospital in February with something that turned out to be manageable, and the fortnight was mostly boredom, ceiling tiles, and an increasingly clear list of everything I had been meaning to do since I was fifty. This was third on the list. The first two are already done.
Sixty, out towards Worcestershire, twenty years of this behind me in two long stretches with a four year gap after my second marriage ended.
I am not going to be dramatic about it. I am fine, I am not on borrowed time, and I have no intention of turning any of this into a story about mortality, which would be both tedious and inaccurate. It simply removed my patience for waiting, and waiting had long since become a habit rather than a decision.
Both directions, genuinely. Historically I have led more often than not, and the occasions when I have not were with people considerably more experienced than me, which I would happily repeat.
What I want now is somebody unhurried who is nevertheless willing to actually meet within a few weeks rather than corresponding until Christmas. Not looking for anybody who needs me to be careful with them, because I do not think I would be very good at that at the moment. Not looking for anything that has to be kept secret. And if you have also recently decided to stop waiting, I would like to hear from you.
