Sixty, widowed, and back to something I put down years ago

I put this down in my forties for reasons that were good at the time, and I am picking it up again at sixty, which is a strange age to be a beginner again at something you used to be fluent in.
My wife died four years ago. We were not in this together, and that is part of why I stopped. I mention it because it explains the shape of what I want, not because I want it to be the subject of any conversation we have. I am a dominant of the older and quieter kind. Service, attention, standards maintained over months rather than an evening of theatre. I like knowing what somebody's week looks like and being told the truth about it. I am not physically what I was and have no interest in pretending, so if what you want is athletic, I am not it.
Houston, in a house I have lived in for twenty two years. What I would like is a woman who wants to be under an arrangement rather than in a series of dates. Age has very little to do with it, as long as you are an adult who knows her own mind. Slow suits me. Two months of letters and coffee before anything else would suit me better still.
I should admit the thing I have been circling. I am not certain I remember how to do this well. What I have now is a great deal of time and a house where nothing is out of place, and I have come to understand that an orderly house is not the same as a life.
I answer everything that comes in, including the ones I am declining. That was true in 1998 and it is still true now.
