Married couple in Houston looking for friends in this, not a third

We are not looking for a third and we are not looking for a scene partner. We are looking for two other people we can have dinner with and be honest in front of.
Some background. Married nineteen years, both mid forties, both working, a house in Houston. About a year ago a conversation started that neither of us expected, and it turns out one of us has wanted this for a very long time and the other one is far more interested than she thought she would be. That is where we are. Mostly reading, one long argument, and a lot of careful talking since.
The thing we do not have is anybody to ask. Every question we have has an answer online written by somebody with a strong opinion and no context. We would like to know a couple who are five or ten years ahead of us and willing to be asked stupid questions over a meal. If that turned into something else at some point, fine, but we would be lying if we said we were expecting it, and we would rather not start from there.
We are both in this post. She read it before it went up and changed two sentences. Neither of us will be writing to anyone privately, and we would notice if somebody tried it the other way round.
Discreet, not ashamed. We simply have a large family in this city and no interest in explaining ourselves to any of them.
