Six years of this and we have never once spoken to another person about it. Not a friend, not a sister, nobody. We have a big loud family between us and a house that is full most Sundays, and there is this one enormous thing in our marriage that never gets a mention.
Thirty eight and thirty six, city centre, together eleven years. He leads, I do not, and we worked all of it out ourselves off the internet with no idea whether we were doing it in a way anybody would recognise.
What we would like is another couple to talk to. That is the honest first ask. Dinner, a drink, a walk, whatever, with two people who would not need any of it explaining. We are good company and we will feed you far too much.
If it ever became anything more than that, we are open to the idea, but neither of us is in a hurry and we would want to actually like you first. Nobody is getting invited anywhere on the strength of a nice message.
Not looking for a single person, and we are sorry, we know that is most of the board. Not looking for a couple who want to skip the friendship part. Not looking for anyone who knows our family, which in this city is a real risk and we are being serious about it.
