I take calls all day for a living, so please do not ring me

- Looking for
- somebody happy to type until we meet in person
- Experience
- Five years, both sides, three short things and one good one.
- Around
- the Baltic Triangle, Liverpool
I spend eight hours a day on a headset being pleasant to strangers who are furious about a bill. By six in the evening the sound of a phone ringing produces something close to a physical reaction, and I have twice had a promising conversation end because the other person insisted a voice call was the only way to know if there was a spark. Thirty, Baltic Triangle, switch, five years in.
I am not antisocial and I am not hiding. I will meet in person early and happily. What I cannot do is the phase in between where somebody wants half an hour on the phone every night, and I have decided to stop treating that as a personal failing.
What I want is one ongoing thing rather than a series. I lead a bit more than I follow. What I actually respond to, in either direction, is somebody who is specific: tell me exactly what you expect and I will either do it properly or tell you why not.
I am funnier in writing than in person, which I am told is a warning.
Not looking for a voice call before we have met. Not looking for someone who wants to talk all day, because I genuinely cannot while I am working. Not looking to be told I will get over it, since it has been five years and a career and I have not.
