Fifty three, newly single, and there is a great deal of space here

- Looking for
- an ongoing dynamic with somebody who is also starting again
- Experience
- Twenty one years, almost all of it inside one marriage.
- Around
- the Valley, Los Angeles
The marriage had this in it for eighteen of its twenty two years and ended for reasons that had nothing to do with any of it. She kept the friends. I kept the house, which is much too large for one person and very quiet at seven in the evening.
Fifty three, the Valley, dominant, twenty one years of experience nearly all of it with the same person. That is a strange sort of qualification. I know how to run a dynamic across decades, through an illness, through a bad year, through the boring parts. I have no idea at all how to start one.
What I want is ongoing and domestic rather than dramatic. Somebody who comes over on set evenings, who has a place in how the week runs, and who eventually finds it unremarkable to be here.
I can host, obviously. I cook far better than I did two years ago because I had to learn. I am told I am easy company and slightly too fond of explaining things.
Two things worth saying now. I am not looking for a replacement, and I will not be describing my ex wife to you at length, because that is a burden nobody on a personals board signed up for. And I am not in a hurry. I have already waited eighteen months and I would rather wait another year than get this wrong out of loneliness.
