I live in my parents' house, along with my grandmother and a brother who works nights. This is normal where my family is from and normal in this neighborhood, and I am not embarrassed about it, but it does mean I cannot host, I cannot talk privately after nine, and there is no version of this where anybody comes to the door.
Thirty one, the foothills, submissive, five years of reading and talking and precisely one afternoon of anything real.
The practical shape of what I can offer is daytimes, most weekdays, because my work is flexible and my family is not. I can travel across town when I have a reason to be out of the house. I am careful in writing and I do not leave things where they can be found.
What I want is a dynamic with rules in it that live in my head rather than on a shelf. Nothing that leaves marks. Nothing that arrives in the mail. I have thought about this a great deal and I know exactly which parts of it I can have inside the life I actually live, which is more than most people my age on this board can say.
