I could live anywhere and I picked here, which people find suspicious

- Looking for
- somebody who does not need me to justify not living in the capital
- Experience
- Six years, both sides, three dynamics, two of them long distance.
- Around
- the 7th, Lyon
I work remotely for a company on the other side of the country and I could be anywhere with a decent connection. I picked here. In two years I have been asked to explain that decision more often than I have been asked what I actually do, and about half the time the question contains a small assumption that I have settled for something.
Thirty, switch, the 7th, six years in. Two of my three dynamics were long distance and both ended the same way, which is that a relationship conducted mostly in writing stops being a relationship and becomes a habit. I am not doing it again.
So I want something local, and I mean it in a way that surprises people who assume a remote worker is halfway out of the door. A long dynamic, both directions, with the everyday texture that only comes from being in the same city. Rules, service, an evening a week, being answerable.
The practical advantage I bring is time. My hours are mine, I am free in the middle of the day, and I have no commute eating either end of the week. That turns out to matter more than anything else I could offer anybody.
Not looking for anybody in another city, which sounds harsh from a person who works remotely and which is exactly why I know it. Not looking for someone who wants my opinion of the capital, which is boring and mild. Not looking for anything conducted mostly by message.
