My partner emigrated, we ended well, and I am starting again at fifty eight

- Looking for
- one person, unhurried, with no interest in my previous twenty years
- Experience
- Twenty two years, one long relationship, two years alone since.
- Around
- Stockport, Manchester
Twenty two years with the same person leaves you extremely experienced and completely out of practice at the same time, and I have not settled yet on whether that is funny. I know precisely what I like. I am good at negotiating it. What I have not done since the early two thousands is meet a stranger and start from nothing, and the way people do that now is not the way it worked then.
She emigrated. That is the short version and there is no darker one underneath it: a job in Canada she had wanted for fifteen years, and a decision I was never going to argue her out of. We cried in an airport and meant all of it. Being genuinely fine about that took most of the two years since.
Fifty eight, Stockport, switch, and every one of those twenty two years with one person.
What I want is one person for something long. I can lead or follow and I have always moved between the two by mutual agreement rather than by mood. Age genuinely does not matter to me, though I would guess this suits somebody over forty.
Not looking for a series of meetings with different people, which I tried for six months and hated. Not looking to talk at length about her. Not looking for anybody who wants intensity in the first month, because I am slow and I have earned the right to be.
