Here on a contract until the spring, and saying so first

- Looking for
- something honest and finite rather than a pretence at forever
- Experience
- Nine years, two long dynamics, both in other cities.
- Around
- Brickell, Miami
My contract ends in April and I will almost certainly go back north when it does. That is the first thing I would tell you over a drink, so it is going in the first line here instead of arriving as an unpleasant surprise in month three.
Thirty five, Brickell, submissive, nine years in, none of it in this city until January.
I know how this reads on a board where half the complaints are about people passing through. I am one of them and I am not going to dress it up. What I would say in my defence is that I am here for another eight months, I have no intention of vanishing before then, and eight months of something real is not nothing. Two of the best years of my life were with somebody I met knowing there was an end date.
What I want is structure. I am at a desk eleven hours a day making decisions that do not matter, and what I would like in the evening is to be told, clearly, by somebody who has thought about it.
I am not asking anybody to fall in love with a departure date. If a finite arrangement is a waste of your time, that is completely fair. If it sounds like exactly the right amount of commitment, we should talk.
