Brazilian, thirty one, and I write this with a dictionary open

I moved from São Paulo two years ago for work. My spoken English is good enough that people forget it is not my first language, and then I write something like this and the seams show. I have a dictionary open in another window and I have been at this for two hours.
Thirty one, Brickell, switch, six years in, all of it at home before I came.
Two things happen when people learn where I am from. The first is a set of assumptions about what I must be like, which I will not repeat here but which arrive with tiring regularity. The second, worse, is that some people become more interested in the accent than in anything I am saying.
What I want is somebody who is curious about the ordinary things. What I do. What I think. Why I switch, which I have never been able to explain properly in either language.
I lead more often than I follow, but I want both from the same person, and I have not found that here yet.
Practically: I work normal hours, I live alone, I can host, and I am free most evenings. I go home for three weeks every December.
Please write in whole sentences. My reading is much better than my listening, and a long message is easier for me than a fast conversation.
