Saturdays and Sundays are when I work. Not sometimes, not in a busy month. Every weekend of the year I am showing places to people who arrive late, and my phone is a hostile object from Thursday evening until Sunday night.
Forty one, Coral Gables, switch, six years in.
Monday and Tuesday are mine, which sounds like a small thing until you try to build any part of a life on it. Every friend I have is working. Every event is on a weekend. Every person who has been interested in me has eventually said some version of "but can you not just take one Saturday off", and the honest answer is that I can, twice a year, and that it costs me more than it is worth.
So I am looking for the other people whose week is upside down. Hospitality, medical, hotel work, anyone self employed, anyone retired.
I go both ways and I am fairly clear that I want to lead more than I follow at the moment, which was not true two years ago.
What I want is something regular on a Monday or Tuesday, with structure that runs through the week. I am organized to an unusual degree, because my job would eat me alive otherwise, and I am at my best when somebody is exact with me.
Please do not suggest a Saturday brunch. I will be at work, wearing a name badge.
