I work nights for the city and I am still learning what I want

Three years in and I still do not have a clean answer to what I am. I lean toward following, but the two experiences that have stayed with me most were both times I was the one deciding, and I have not resolved that and possibly never will.
Thirty nine, Queens, working nights for the city, which means my week does not look like yours. My one real dynamic lasted fourteen months and ended because we wanted different things and neither of us had done anything wrong, which I have found is a harder ending to explain than a dramatic one. People keep asking what happened. Nothing happened. That was rather the point.
What I want now is somebody willing to work it out with me rather than needing me to arrive with the answer already written down. I do not think that is unreasonable at three years in, although I notice most posts on this board are written by people who sound extremely certain about themselves.
I am steady. I turn up. I do not play games and I have no energy for them after a twelve hour shift.
Not looking for anyone who needs me to pick a side before the first coffee. Not looking for someone who wants a lot of daily contact, because I will be asleep. Not looking for anything that has to happen at eight on a Friday.
