Twenty three years in, and the board has got worse, not better

- Twenty three years. Most of it, twice, in both directions.

- Manhattan, New York
I have been doing this since I was thirty two and I have watched the way people find each other change three separate times. I am not convinced any of it counts as an improvement.
What has been lost, specifically, is writing. People used to have to describe themselves, because there was nothing else to go on. Now a post is four adjectives and a location and an expectation that the reader will do the work.
Fifty five, Manhattan, switch, twenty three years. I have done nearly everything, most of it from both sides, and the consequence is that I am not looking for experiences any more. I have had the experiences. What I have not had in about four years is a conversation with somebody who was clearly enjoying having it.
What I want is one person, near me, who can write a paragraph. That is genuinely the whole filter. Tell me what you would like a normal month to contain. Tell me what went wrong last time and what you think your part in it was. Two paragraphs and I will know more about whether this works than a year of photographs would tell me.
I am good company, I cook, I am extremely difficult to shock and quite easy to make laugh. Not looking for anyone who opens with hey. Not looking for anyone who describes themselves as a work in progress or a switch leaning anything. Not looking for a project, mine or yours.
