Neither of us can lead. We have both tried, generously, for the other one, and both attempts were affectionate failures that we now find funny and did not find funny at the time.
Thirty seven and thirty nine, Barra, together eight years. What we want is one dominant woman for both of us, seen regularly, for a long time rather than a season.
We had this once before for eighteen months and it was the best arrangement either of us has had. What made it work was that she treated us as two people rather than as a unit. She had different standards for each of us, she noticed different things, and she never once let either of us hide behind the other, which is the specific failure mode of a couple like us.
What we can offer is stability, a private flat, and two people who are used to being organised and quite like it. We are out in Barra, which we know is a journey. We will travel to the centre or the south zone and we have a car.
Not looking for a couple, and no judgement in that, we have simply worked out it is not what we want.
