We have a large flat with a spare room and a door that locks, in a part of the city where that is unusual, and we have learned that this is the first thing a lot of people notice about us and sometimes the only thing.
Forty and forty four, south zone, together thirteen years, five of them meeting other people. Twice we have had somebody enthusiastic for a month who turned out to be enthusiastic about the room. Once it was so obvious in retrospect that we laughed about it, and once it was not funny at all.
So we have become slower and a bit more suspicious, which we do not enjoy being. What we now do is spend a long time in public first, at our own expense in effort, before anybody comes to the house.
What we want is one submissive for a long arrangement. She leads, he is involved and does not lead, and we are looking for something domestic and regular rather than intense. Standing duties, two evenings a week, a written understanding.
The honest test we apply, and we will probably say it out loud: would you want this if we lived in one room over the other side of the city? If the answer is no, that is not a moral failing, it is just an answer. Not looking for anybody who leads with logistics. Not looking for a person who needs somewhere to stay. Not looking to be a convenience.
