I have been the oldest person in every room I have walked into for about eight years now and I have stopped finding it uncomfortable and started finding it funny. What I have not got used to is being treated as either fragile or remarkable, sometimes in the same message.
Sixty one, São Paulo, submissive, twenty nine years. Three dynamics, the longest of which ran sixteen years and ended when he died, four years ago. I taught for most of my life and I retired at fifty eight and I have more energy now than I did at forty five.
What I want is quite ordinary. A long domestic arrangement. Rules, service, being useful to somebody who notices. Regular contact. Nothing that would look like anything to a person watching us in a restaurant.
What I do not want is to be anybody's discovery. I am not brave for being here and there is nothing inspiring about a woman of sixty one wanting the same things she wanted at thirty two.
I am in good health, I travel, I have a large circle of friends none of whom know any of this, and I am busy in a way that some people find inconvenient.
I would prefer somebody over forty five, purely because I have twice been somebody's education and it is a tiring role.
I am funny, I am impatient, and I write long messages at odd hours because I sleep badly and always have.
