Twenty five years in São Paulo and I have watched it change three times

When I started, everything happened through people. Then it happened on forums, and everybody suddenly had vocabulary and nobody had any judgement. Now it happens on boards like this and the vocabulary has improved again and people are considerably better at negotiating and considerably worse at continuing.
Fifty five, São Paulo, switch, twenty five years. Three dynamics of real length, the last of which ended two years ago and lasted nine. I am not nostalgic. Every one of those changes made this safer for the people who came after me and I would not undo any of them.
What has genuinely got worse is patience. I have had eight conversations this year that were interesting and then simply stopped, and I have concluded that this is what having a great many options does to a person, and that it is nobody's fault in particular.
What I want is one person, over years, both directions available. I lead a bit more than I follow. I am interested in service, protocol and restraint, and very little interested in pain, which surprises people who assume that twenty five years means an escalating appetite.
I live alone in the west zone, I can host, and I am retired from one career and working part time at another.
I am happy to be friends for a long time first. At this stage I have more interest in the people than in the activities, which is not resignation, it is just what twenty five years does.
