Our landlord inspects the place every three months and photographs every room. That single fact shapes more of our life than anything else we could tell you about ourselves.
Thirty one and thirty three, the inner west, together four years, both of us new enough to this that we still look things up in the middle of a conversation.
Nothing can be installed. Nothing can be left out. Everything we own that relates to any of this fits in a suitcase that lives on top of a wardrobe, and twice a year we take that suitcase to a friend's place before an inspection. That is genuinely the level of planning involved, and it is why we are the couple who suggests going to yours.
What we are looking for is another couple, or a single person of any gender, mostly to know first. We are beginners with enthusiasm and no community whatsoever, and every question we have ever had we have answered by reading something written by a stranger with no idea who we are.
We both switch, it works out roughly even between us, and we have no idea whether that is normal. Not looking for anybody who wants to teach us in a way that is really about them. Not looking for anything before several conversations. Not looking for a couple who will be disappointed by how little we know, which we would much rather establish now than in person.
