Fifty eight, in this in the nineties, and everything I knew is obsolete

- A decade of it long ago, then fifteen years away, back since last winter.

I was part of this in the nineties, in a city that no longer exists in any recognisable form, and then I was away from it for fifteen years. I came back last winter and the first thing I discovered is that everything I knew about how people meet is obsolete.
Fifty eight, the north shore, dominant. My wife died four years ago. This was not part of our marriage and there is nothing complicated in me about that. I am simply on my own, in a large quiet house, with more time than I have had since I was twenty five.
What has changed, from where I sit: people negotiate properly now, which is enormously better than whatever we thought we were doing, and people also communicate through screens in a way I find genuinely difficult. I am not going to become good at it. I would rather talk on the phone once than exchange forty messages, and I understand that makes me an unusual proposition here.
What I want is one submissive woman, over forty, for something long, formal, and mostly quite ordinary. I would like somebody in my life rather than an appointment in it.
Not looking for anybody who wants to hear about my wife. Not looking for a great deal of typing. Not looking to be treated as a curiosity from a previous era, which happened twice last year and was less funny than the people saying it seemed to think.
