I am on a temporary visa and I do not know whether I will still be in this country in two years. That is the first thing anybody should know about me, because I have twice let it come up late and both times it was worse than saying it at the start.
Twenty nine, the inner city, switch, four years in, most of that somewhere else. I moved here for work eighteen months ago. I love it. Whether I stay is not entirely my decision, the process is slow, and I will not be able to give anybody a straight answer for a while yet.
What I want, given all that: something real now rather than something provisional. I would rather have eighteen good months with somebody who knew the situation than a series of carefully shallow arrangements designed not to hurt. That is a choice, it is not one everybody would make, and I completely understand people who would not.
Both directions, with a preference for leading. I like structure and an arrangement with clear terms, possibly because so little else in my life currently has any.
Not looking for anybody who wants to fix my visa situation, which happens, and which is a strange and slightly unsettling thing to be offered. Not looking for anything casual. Not looking to pretend the clock is not there.
