Fifty, dominant, and I do not have the hours to teach anybody

- Looking for
- somebody experienced, because my free time is arithmetic
- Experience
- Twenty three years, and about one evening a week to spend on it.
- Around
- downtown, Toronto
Nine of the last twelve people who wrote to me described themselves as new and asked whether I would teach them. I want to be straightforward about this. I will not, and it is not snobbery, it is arithmetic.
Fifty, downtown, dominant, twenty three years in. I work long hours in a job I am not leaving, I look after a parent two days a week, and what remains is roughly one evening and part of a weekend. That is the whole budget. Teaching somebody from nothing takes a year of patient hours that I do not have, and doing it badly because I am tired would be worse than not doing it at all.
So I am looking for somebody experienced. Not accomplished, not impressive, simply somebody who knows what they want, knows how to say no, and does not need the fundamentals explained to them. Ten years in, five years in, it makes no difference, as long as you have been inside a real dynamic and know how you behave there.
What I offer inside my small number of hours is complete focus. I do not cancel. I plan properly. Nobody has ever accused me of being distracted.
I lead firmly and I am not remotely gentle in the moment, although I am careful before and afterwards. Not looking for a beginner, and I promise I am not going to make an exception. Not looking for anybody who wants to be my project. Not looking for something that has to happen more than twice a week.
